...DEATH CERTIFICATE...


With each order the Health Department currently charges $20 for each certified copy. Additional copies are available at any future time.

Certified Copies May Be Needed To:
  1. To collect life insurance. One copy for each insurance company.
  2. To transfer title to real estate.
  3. To transfer title to vehicles.
  4. To sell or transfer stocks, bonds, or mutual funds.
  5. To cash in certificates of deposits (without interest penalties) before the maturity date.
  6. When there is a bank account with only the deceased name on the account.
  7. May be needed for the Internal Revenue Service.
  8. May be needed to collect union benefits.

PLEASE NOTE:
We have found it usually takes about ten working days for the certified copies of the death certificate to arrive from the Health Department.
